The Choirs
The Basilica Choirs consist of both Junior and Senior components. Our Junior choir is comprised of children grades 4-8 from our elementary schools within our parish. We rehearse and sing for special Liturgical celebrations throughout the year but not on a weekly basis. Our average enrollment is between 35 and 40 voices. This choir is most prominently featured at our Christmas Eve Children's Mass with pageant.

The Senior Choir of the Basilica sings from mid September up to mid June during the year. This choir is also responsible for many Diocesan Liturgies in the Basilica as well as in other venues. The Senior Choir rehearses weekly on Thursdays from 7:30 -9:30pm. Our choir sings a wide variety of the standard repertoire as well as many different Mass Settings for the liturgical year. In 2013 the Basilica Choir traveled to Vienna Austria to perform in the annual Advent Carol Festival and is scheduled to travel to Rome in the spring of 2020 to perform at the Vatican as well as Florence and Venice. This choir comprises an average of 42 voices. Choir members are expected to attend regularly and adhere to a strict attendance policy. Membership is by audition and any interested persons should contact the Music Director for details.

Basilica Choir and Orchestra at Easter
Basilica Orchestra
The Basilica Orchestra is made up of members from both the Guelph Symphony Orchestra and the K-W Symphony Orchestra. This group performs with the choir throughout the year at special liturgies. The orchestra features 5 piece strings, double brass, flute/piccolo and timpani. Due to the restricted space in the choir loft we are limited to the number of musicians which we can accommodate.

CHOIR meets at 10:20am in the
Choir Loft for vesting and rehearsal.
